Peach Berserk’s Fabulous Silkscreen Blog

Welcome to the Peachiness!

Hi everybody! It’s September, and here’s what’s going on in my world:

- It’s hot. WAY TOO HOT. I really hate hot weather; it’s like torture to me! My studio and apartment don’t have air conditioning, so I am desperate for the start of fall. Cold weather = cute clothes! Velvet coats, snuggly scarves, fabulous high-heeled boots! Tight black sweaters! Who’s with me on this one?

- On Sunday, September 28th, I’ll be at Toronto’s Word on the Street Book and Magazine Festival with my new book, Silkscreen Now — so come to Queen’s Park and hang out at my booth! If you’ve never been, Word on the Street is a celebration of all things printed; if you’ve been before, then I don’t need to tell you how much fun it is! We’ll be the ones doing silkscreening demonstrations and complaining about the heat.

- We’re shooting the screen for a brand new print today in my boiling-hot studio. It’s all images of nude statues from the classical era to the Renaissance, and it’s called… umm.. I don’t know what it’s called yet! Post your suggestion for a print name, and if I choose it, I’ll send you a pack of handprinted Peach Berserk fabric patches!

- New designs for fall: we just designed new jackets, and they are GORGEOUS. They’re our Berserk take on Steampunk: Victorian cut, lots of great details, raunch downtown edge, enviro-chic patchwork, and they’re lined in heavy dark blue satin (flannel-backed for warmth!). Remember we’ll make them custom for the same price, so ladies, choose your colours!

- Something we’ve never done before: Long-Sleeve Stretch Dresses for fall and winter. Our fit n flare summer ones are so popular, we want to take them into the next season! My co-author Annalisa has already ordered a floor-length one in dark red stretch with the black Wired Roses print.
